The Adams Plan
Our parent companies offer more than 20 imaginative designs, any of which can be modified, enlarged or reduced in size to suit customers’ individual needs. Stock sizes range from 200 to more than 2,000 square feet -- most of which can effectively double in size when a full-size basement is added.

Wilderness Cabin Company’s country homes are versatile -- and with cost savings on lock-up materials of up to 25 per cent over obtaining the same materials from conventional sources -- a remarkably cost-effective way of creating and building your own country home.

About Western Red Cedar

While all Wilderness Cabin Company’s Country Home Packages are delivered pre-stained in the colours of your choice, it’s worth noting that even unfinished Western Red Cedar has richly textured grain ranging from mellow ambers, reddish cinnamons and rich sienna browns. That aside, Western Red Cedar is easy to finish, because it is virtually pitch and resin-free and readily accepts fine oils and stains, or solid coatings and paint. Its use in North American living dates back centuries, when our First Nations peoples discovered its versatility for creating anything from totem poles to canoes. Today, it is the chosen exterior finish for any architectural design, from turn-of-the-century to contemporary.

It is valued for its resistance to rot and is exclusively used by Wilderness/Greystokes for posts, decking, shingles and siding that form part of almost all of our unique designs. Western Red Cedar’s beauty, versatility and durability are standard for Wilderness Cabin Company’s outstanding country home packages.

The Wilderness/Greystokes Advantage

There are many good reasons to consider choosing a Wilderness Cabin Company package over conventional ‘from scratch’ construction of your new home, guest cottage or home office. Here are just some of them:

  • All models up to 900 square feet in size — and in some cases, beyond — are pre-cut and ready for fast-track construction.

  • Purchasers can expect to save approximately 25 per cent over the cost of purchasing the same materials elsewhere.

  • All materials supplied by Wilderness Cabin Company are subjected to stringent, item-by-item quality control before shipment, as opposed to lumber yards’ random selection.

  • All materials are weather-wrapped to protect our customers’ investment during transit and on-site during construction.

  • We provide in-house technical support and course-of-construction advice from delivery to project completion.

  • The need for repeated visits to building materials suppliers is eliminated. Wilderness Cabin Company guarantees that all materials required to complete to lock-up stage will be delivered as ordered. In the very unlikely event that any item is overlooked, the company undertakes to ensure that such shortages are met promptly and at its own cost.

  • All exterior materials are pre-stained Western Red Cedar, according to our customers’ colour selections. Depending on the size of the model chosen, this represents added value and further savings of $2,000 or more.
